
Lizzie Chapman
Lizzie has been based in India for nearly 12 years, working in the world of financial technology and financial inclusion. In 2012, she moved from London to Mumbai to set up and spearhead the India operations for Wonga, one of the largest fintech companies in the world at that time. Subsequently, she joined the Development Bank of Singapore and led the launch of “Digibank”, India's first mobile-app-only bank.
In 2015, with her ex-Wonga colleagues, Lizzie Co-Founded “ZestMoney”. ZestMoney was a pathbreaker in the category of Digital Credit (including BNPL, Digital EMI, and Personal loans). One of the first tech platforms in the country to create a completely digital end-to-end product, including 100% digital risk management and collections. Lizzie started her career in London with Goldman Sachs, in equity research and then asset management. She also worked as an Investment Manager at the Wellcome Trust, focusing on India and Financials investments.
Lizzie currently serves on the boards of Cloud Nine (maternity healthcare), and IndiaQuotient (early-stage investment fund). She is also a founding member (and former President) of the Digital Lending Association of India and previously served as a Member of the Innovation Council of the National Payments Corporation of India, as well as on the National Start-Up Advisory Council.
