Manisha Girotra, Moelis & Company’s India CEO, boasts over three decades of hard-fought experience. Her journey through a male-dominated financial world, where sexism ran deep, is a testament to her resilience. From battling condescension to coffee-fetching expectations, she's defied unspoken challenges. In her current role, where men still outnumber women 60:40, her mission is clear: inspire and empower women in India's burgeoning investment landscape. As the nation garners global investment attention, her story resonates. Through Joshtalks, she'll unveil her odyssey through patriarchy, a journey few women dare to tread. A wife and mother, she's mastered the art of balancing family and a thriving career.

Manisha, a gold medalist from Delhi School of Economics, once saw banking as a fleeting stopover enroute to a PhD abroad. But her passion ignited, propelling her to pioneer and helm UBS's India chapter, eventually seizing the CEO mantle in 2002. Later, she establishing Moelis’s India operations and today manages the business as the India CEO. In the '90s, a starkly different corporate world greeted her, laden with presumptions about her impending marriage and exit. She faced unwarranted comments on attire and appearance. Leading a team, yet clients preferred speaking to male counterparts, relegating her to pizza orders and coffee runs. Her early years were grueling, compounded when she became a mother, working relentlessly. Yet, at Moelis, she champions open discourse on domestic responsibilities, urging all employees to prioritize family midday. Her life mantra and advice to fellow working women: resilience. "Believe in yourself. You will triumph."
